Job Title: Water Hygiene Technician

Salary Range: £24,000 – £30,000 per annum

Location: Reading

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Water Hygiene Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing effective water management and hygiene regimes, providing technical guidance, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical advice and guidance to team members and site operatives on current legionella and water hygiene legislation.
  • Implementing control and management regimes for water services.
  • Undertaking clean and chlorination works of domestic water services and cooling towers.
  • Managing and supervising control of heating and chilled water closed system analysis.
  • Producing comprehensive reports and populating the company app.
  • Visiting corporate accounts to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Specifying and project managing remedial works related to legionella and water services.
  • Obtaining quotations and tenders for small and remedial works.
  • Maintaining accurate site records for maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with Legionella Control Association requirements.
  • Undertaking plumbing works, TMV servicing, and shower head clean and disinfection.
  • Coordinating and supervising in-house and on-site contractor activities.

Skills/Experience:

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 Plumbing certification.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as word processing and spreadsheet packages.
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, and organisational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of current legionella control and water quality legislation.
  • Familiarity with HSE’s ACOP L8 and Legionella Control Association requirements.
  • Awareness of health and safety protocols and safe working practices.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.

Desired:

  • Experience in implementing water hygiene and legionella control regimes.
  • Understanding of environmental legislation related to water management.
  • Ability to work to high standards with limited supervision.
