Client:
Leeds Teaching Hospitals
Description:
Leeds Teaching Hospitals is one of the biggest NHS trusts in the country and offers a full range of specialist and general hospital services. They have an international reputation for excellence in specialist care, research and academic training.
Though their four large sites (St James's University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary, Chapel Allerton and Seacroft hospitals) they offer one of Europe's best teaching and care facilities.
Project:
To undertake comprehensive Legionella risk assessments to the whole estate and to construct as fitted drawings for existing properties detailing any areas of non-conformance with appropriate remedial actions.
To act as specialist Legionella consultant to the Estates department and to provide technical advice on any Legionella related issues.
General description:
As a result of the historic alterations undertaken on the water services to the whole estate it was apparent that the existing water services drawings held by the client were out of date and did not reflect the true scope of the current services installation. GENEX were selected by tender to compile as fitted drawings for one of the main blocks to St James's University Hospital. As a result of our work the client appointed us to undertake full risk assessments.
We have also been commissioned to act as specialist advisors to the Trust on Legionella matters. This has recently been expanded to providing project management of the balancing works to a number of domestic hot water services across the properties.
